Rebels Lose at Worcester, 29-15
The Albany Rebels lost to the Worcester Fenians 7-8 (29 points) to 3-6 (15 points) in an exhibition on Saturday in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The Rebels were without many regulars, but managed to score three goals and showed bright spots against a quality opponent.
"Despite the result there were a couple positives to take away," said Rebels player-coach Ryan Moloney. "We are happy to establish a relationship with another new team, and we were also able to give invaluable playing time to some of our newer players."
Rookie Marc Massena, who is the younger brother of Pierre Massena, made his Gaelic football debut for the Rebels on Saturday. He scored a goal and a point in the losing effort.
Pierre Massena and Moloney led the Rebels with a goal and two points each.
Rebels Notes: The Massena brothers have combined to score 5 goals and 6 points this season ... Henry Best scored his first point of the season in the match against Worcester ... The Rebels return to action versus Syracuse on Saturday, July 16 in Syracuse.
