Rebels Hurling Place 2nd at RocCity Winter Classic
Albany Rebels hurling placed 2nd at the RocCity Winter Classic tournament on Saturday in Rochester, N.Y. It was an impressive result given that it was the club's first ever competition since forming a hurling side last year.
The Rebels defeated both Rochester teams and tied Buffalo in the preliminary matches before losing in the final to the Akron Celtic Guards.
The Rebels were led by Ian Maher who scored 18 goals over the four matches and was later named Man of the Tournament.
Joe Bradley scored six goals, Justin Finning scored four goals and both Brian Kanalley and Cillian Flavin had one each.
