Rebels Dominate 4th Quarter to Secure First Win of the Season

The Albany Rebels dominated the 4th quarter against the Dutchess County Griffins on Saturday, scoring two goals and four points to secure their first win of the season by a score of 4-11 (23 points) to 2-4 (10 points) at Tymor Park in Lagrangeville, New York.

The Rebels controlled much of the match by hand-passing up the field and finding the open man. The midfield of Mikey Heiserman and Ryan Moloney, and halfbacks Mark Adam, RC Helsing and Henry Best were competitive in the air on kickouts and tough in tackles, bottling up the Griffins attack.

Dutchess County rallied at the start of the 2nd half when they won the throw in and their midfielder sprinted down the left side and scored a goal at the near post.

The match was still in doubt entering the fourth quarter with the Rebels holding a 3-point lead. That's when the Rebels turned it up and pulled away. Two early goals sealed the match and the first win of the season.

"We are very happy with the results, not only for the final scoreline but also the chance to get game time for some of our new players, and the opportunity to continue to build our relationship with Dutchess County," said Rebels player/coach Ryan Moloney.

Moloney led the team with 2 goals and five points. Other scorers included Joe Bradley (1-1), John Lake (1-1), Cillian Flavin (0-3) and Tim Gerrish (0-1).
